Japanese Wood Crafts & Tools

using a kanna --Japanese plane --to finish wood

For over 65 years, Master Craftsman Toshihiro Sahara has been working with  wood using traditional Japanese carpentry methods.  He has created fine teahouses, restaurants, gardens, and homes throughout the Southeast and beyond. Over the years, he has gained an intimate knowledge of wood and the skill to bring out its innate beauty. He finds joy in creating wood crafts that are not only functional, but lovely to see and touch.
